This class will focus less on the tactical aspect and begin to break down the positional aspects of the game. The goal is for students to be able to recognize imbalances in order to create strengths. Students will learn how to gain advantages from small differences in the position, such as the placement of the pawns, or a critical square on the board that can lead to a strong attack. We will also focus on learning more about different openings, and how they continue to effect the later stages of the game. There will also be a strong focus on high level endgame positions.
